Terms of Use
Last updated: 2 August 2026
These Terms govern your use of the Kutubji app. By downloading or using Kutubji, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
In short: Kutubji is free to read. Books in the library belong to their rights holders and are provided for your personal reading — not for redistribution. Anything you write stays yours and stays private. An optional subscription removes ads; it is billed by Apple and you cancel it in your Apple account.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using Kutubji you enter into an agreement with Moawiya Thaher (“we”, “us”). These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, form that agreement.
2. Who may use Kutubji
You must be at least 13 years old to use Kutubji. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. The library contains works of literature written for adult readers.
3. Your account
Some features require signing in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account, and for keeping access to your sign-in method secure. Do not share your account with others, and tell us if you believe it has been compromised.
You may delete your account at any time. Deleting it removes your reading progress, favourites, saved quotes and everything in My Own Books. This cannot be undone.
4. The library & content rights
The books, texts, quotes and artwork available in Kutubji are the property of their respective authors, translators, publishers and rights holders. They are made available to you under a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read them inside the app. No ownership is transferred to you.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that everything in the library may lawfully be offered. If you are a rights holder and believe a work has been included in error, contact us at rewayaapp@gmail.com with details of the work and your rights, and we will review and remove it promptly.
5. Permitted use
You agree not to:
- Copy, extract, scrape or redistribute the library’s content outside the app
- Sell, sublicense or commercially exploit any content from Kutubji
- Remove or obscure attribution, author names or copyright notices
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or tamper with the app
- Access the app through automated means, or attempt to overload our systems
- Use Kutubji for any unlawful purpose
Sharing a quote as an image — which the app is built to do — is fine and encouraged. Republishing whole books is not.
6. Your own writing
My Own Books lets you write inside the app. What you write is yours. You keep all rights to it. We claim no ownership.
In this version of the app your writing is private to your account: it is not published, and it is not visible to other users. We store it only so that it syncs across your devices and survives losing your phone. We grant ourselves no right to use, display or distribute it.
You are responsible for what you write, including making sure you have the right to write it. Do not use the feature to store unlawful material.
Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. While we take care with your data, we cannot guarantee against loss.
7. Subscription & payment
Reading is free. Kutubji also offers an optional auto-renewing subscription that removes advertising and supports the library.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase
- The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings
- Prices may vary by region and may change; we will tell you before a change affects you
Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store’s policy, not by us. If a purchase does not unlock correctly, contact us and we will help.
8. Advertising
The free version shows advertising supplied by Google AdMob. Ads are what keep the library free. Where required, you are asked for permission before any tracking takes place — see the Privacy Policy. We do not control the specific ads served and are not responsible for advertisers’ content or their sites.
9. Availability & changes
We work to keep Kutubji running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may add, change or remove features, books or sections of the library at any time — including titles you have started reading, if a rights holder asks us to remove them.
10. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, attempt to harm the service or its users, or use the app unlawfully. You may stop using Kutubji and delete your account at any time. Sections 4, 11, 12 and 15 survive termination.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
Kutubji is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that content will be accurate or complete, or that any particular book will remain available.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill arising from your use of Kutubji. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Apple
These Terms are between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Kutubji or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple is not a party to these Terms but is a third-party beneficiary and may enforce them against you. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and significant changes may also be announced in the app. Continuing to use Kutubji after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The courts of Amman, Jordan have jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
